Last week, a discussion ensued when reviewing a quiz question. The discussion eventually morphed into the accepting of ‘gifts’ by public officials and the “conflict of interest” it generates. Here is an article on just such an incident involving gifts and the President of the United States.
The intent is not to reveal any wrong-doing. Instead, to offer an example of how and when a public official may be offered gifts.
Should gifts, like these or of another nature, be returned to the public by civil servants?
