Mr. Teitel is the second of two principals of Stuyvesant High School that I served with. Of all principals I served with during my twenty-five years of teaching, his tenure was the longest- spanning half of my own career. In that time we have experienced the mundane to the profane. The attacks of 11 September 2001, unfortunately, remain as the preeminent event in that tenure. In those good and bad times, I have become fond of the administrator he had become. Having him retire at this moment is his right, he has definitely earned it. However, I can’t deny the loss I feel.
I wish him and his family health, happiness, and prosperity for many years to come.
